Ouya gains four controller support, in “active discussions” with Namco Bandai

Plus, Plex support announced.

The latest Ouya Kickstarter update has more news on big publisher support. Square Enix was the first. Namco Bandai is the next.

The Tekken, Ridge Racer, and Pac-Man publisher is currently in “active discussions” with Ouya to bring some of its biggest properties to the platform, according to Namco Bandai marketing VP Carlson Choi. Namco Bandai is “excited” to explore how it can work with Ouya “to bring some great titles to the forthcoming console.”

And in response to feedback from the community, it is confirmed that Ouya will officially support up to four controllers.

Ouya also announced that in additon to XBMC support, it will also support an alternate media player: Plex.

Ouya will launch in March 2013. Its Kickstarter, which has passed its $950,000 goal at $7.7 million, will end in 14 hours. If you’ve been holding out to pledge support, now is the time.
