A new Sonic the Hedgehog game will launch in 2017, Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka revealed during an anniversary celebration in Tokyo.

Details will be announced at the Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Party in San Diego on July 22. Of course, previous, not-subtle teases, including one yesterday, have already indicated this. Iizuka also confirmed that the San Diego event will be live streamed via Twitch.
