Nintendo TVii launching December 8 in Japan
The remote control will cost you about a buck, though.Free Wii U television application Nintendo TVii will launch day and date with Wii U on December 8 in Japan, Nintendo has announced.
The service will provide users related TV program information on the Wii U GamePad. You will be able to use the GamePad to check the program guide when watching TV, when you’re not watching TV, or even if you’re in the middle of a video game. You will be able to see a program’s details, actors, and related programs, add favorite shows, actors, and genres, and be recommended new shows based on your personal preferences. A TV remote control function will be available for an additional fee of 100 yen ($1.20 USD) on the Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo TVii will utilize the Syndicated G Guide via a partnership with the Interactive Program Guide company, which developed its G Guide service based on Rovi Corporation’s program guide technology. See a few snapshots of the Japanese program here.
