DOOM 4 will be “done when it’s done,” according to id Software co-founder John Carmack.
Speaking during his keynote at QuakeCon today, Carmack said the studio had to shut down its mobile division to free up staff for big budget releases like the next DOOM title.
“Essentially everybody will be focused on DOOM 4,” he said. “The Bethesda family really is about swinging for the fences.”
The last we heard of DOOM 4 was in February, when a batch of screenshots leaked. An id rep later said the images “have nothing to do with what you’re gonna see.”
