The next installment in the Gears of War series, first teased yesterday, is titled Gears of War: Judgement, Game Informer has revealed. The characters blacked out on the magazine’s July cover story are now shown to be both Damon Baird and Augustus “Cole Train” Cole (there are two covers).
Stick around on Monday, when Microsoft will reveal the first trailer for Gears of War: Judgement, and Game Informer will go live with details on the game’s multiplayer mode.
Update: A few details have surfaced online from early adopters of the magazine. In development at People Can Fly, Gears of War: Judement is a spin-off prequel focused on Baird in his early years, who is accused of military crimes. Cole Train, Garrron Paduk, and a red-haired girl named Sophia Hendricks join Baird on Team Kilo, which he leads. The game will offer “more freedom” in its narrative, and a “Smart Spawn System” said to increase the game’s longevity, allowing you to create different situations by replaying certain acts or chapters.
Multiplayer is said to be class-based. A new mode called “Overrun” combines the series’ regular Horde and Beast modes.
