Leak: Xbox 360 Spring 2011 update launches May 19, adds Paypal; Avatar Kinect dated

The Spring 2011 update for Xbox 360 will launch on May 19, according to leaked documents — obtained by Joystiq — detailing the specifics. It’ll add support for the new Microsoft disc format, which will “be used in future game titles releasing later in 2011,” and enable PayPal support, expanding the service to “new international markets.”

The update will be distributed in “6 separate groups,” starting from May 19 through May 30, to “ensure a high quality deployment.” In layman’s terms, you may not receive the update the same day as your buddy receives it.

The documents also list Avatar Kinect, Microsoft’s virtual hang-out service for Avatars, for a May 27 release.

Microsoft has yet to comment on the leaked documents.
