The first full-length video of Battlefield 3 came out a couple of days ago during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and it’s fair to say it turned some heads. The game, of course, was running on a PC (if the PC key prompts didn’t give it away), so many are wondering what the console versions look like in comparison.
Speaking to X360 Magazine, DICE Art Director Gustav Tilleby said: “The positive thing is that the new rendering technique allows us to do more complex calculations at no extra cost. That’s the magic. The game will look very good, even on 360.
“We knew that people would think that this demo was running on PC, but the good thing is that it’s all based on streaming,” added executive producer Patrick Bach. “I can promise you that the console versions will still look amazing because of the core technology. If you have a 360, we want to use that machine to the maximum.”
Good to hear. With the game releasing this fall, it probably won’t be long until we see for ourselves what the game looks like running on a console.
