Nomura: ‘Don’t forget Lightning’

An interesting update from Tetsuya Nomura today. All Japanese Square-Enix Members accounts with an ‘Ultimate’ status on their name received a special Christmas present from the Final Fantasy designer and director.

The gift: an art plate with an original illustration of Final Fantasy XIII protagonist Lightning. To her left reads: “She must not be forgotten.”

Odd, don’t you think? Perhaps Nomura is subtly hinting at a sequel or new game involving her? Perhaps something to be unveiled during January 18’s Square Enix conference? Square Enix did say they’d be interesting in doing another if there is enough demand.

Only time will tell.
