Jaffe defends PS3 exclusivity statements
Yesterday, Twisted Metal director David Jaffe spoke out on his feelings towards console exclusivity, saying that even if they were offered the opportunity to bring the Sony-owned IP to Xbox 360, they’d keep the game a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Afterward, Jaffe even rewarded a Twisted Metal fan who owns solely an Xbox 360 a PlayStation 3 so he can play the game when it comes out in 2011.
Apparently, Jaffe’s comments didn’t suit right with the the Xbox owning commenters of our friends at Destructoid. Naturally, Jaffe responded.
“Holy f**k, Destructoid Xbox only owners out in full force against me,” Jaffe wrote in a four–part Twitter update. “WTF? I can’t have an opinion? It’s not that we would not LOVE to have our games in every home in the world…even the ones w/out electricity. F**k it- we don’t care! It’s just that we value our relationship with Sony very, very much. They give us extra time to make the game great, lots of creative and marketing and business support. And we like the people over there tons; they are like family. Why is it so hard to understand we’d like 2 stay in that kind of working relationship?”
Agreed, Jaffe. Agreed. You’ve got to love him. Not many developers out there who truly speak their mind like David. I kind of admire the guy.
