The recent Video Game Award teaser clips with hidden zombie posters is for a new Resident Evil game, we can now confirm. If the biohazard (Resident Evil‘s name in Japan) sign in the second poster didn’t give it away, then perhaps today’s new discovery will.
The silhouetted zombie (on the left) in the first poster matches the artwork featured on an official Resident Evil t-shirt (middle zombie). See below.
Earlier this month, it was rumored that Vancouver-based SOCOM: Confrontation developer Slant Six Games is developing a new game in the Resident Evil franchise codenamed Resident Evil: Racoon City. Capcom refused to comment on the claim. A job listing for the company was seeking help on a new “multiplayer action game“.
So far, the two VGA teaser clips have brought light two words: “murder” and “your”. If this is in fact Slant Six Games’ rumored Resident Evil — which might be multiplayer given their listing — the last word could be “friends”. But it’s not.
It’s “maker”. Thus making the sentence: “Murder your maker.” It was discovered by way of this image on the VGA’s mobile site. It’s possible that the game involved with the zombie posters is a different game than that involved with the 2D barcodes. GAF is saying the barcodes involve some game from Activision, but I’m having trouble finding out where they got that information from. The zombie poster is definitely Resident Evil, though.
Thanks, GamerZines.
Update: Murder Your Maker is for a new Activision game. The campaign is separate than that of the zombie posters.
