Sony “looking to continue” creating HD collections
After a successful God of War Collection and an upcoming Sly Collection, a ‘Classics HD’ branding, and numerous collection requests from fans, it looks as if Sony is finally taking HD collections into development. During an E3 interview with Shuhei Yoshida, president of SCE’s Worldwide Studios, he confirms that Sony will “continue” these high-definition upgrades.
“Santa Monica Studios had the brilliant idea to upgrade and improve God of War for PS3 with the God of War Collection that we released last year,” Yoshida told IGN.com. “There were a lot of positive reactions from consumers in doing that, and now we get a lot of suggestions for types of packs they’d like to see.”
“So we are looking to continue to do these HD conversions,” he added.
In regards to releasing PS2 titles through the PlayStation Network for PS3 gamers to download, Yoshida said:
“We are looking into ways how we can deliver the PS2 library to PS3 consumers, but were are not ready to announce anything yet.”
