Ys X: Nordics is an action role-playing video game developed and published by Nihon Falcom. It is published by NIS America in the west and by Clouded Leopard Entertainment in Asia.
About
Four years after the PlayStation 4 release of the action RPG Ys IX: Monstrum Nox in 2019, which received high acclaim from gamers around the world, Ys X: Nordics, the long-awaited latest installment commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Ys series, is coming to multiple platforms in 2023!
The story takes place in the northern sea Obelia Bay, a bay filled with countless islands of all sizes. Adol Christin, a young adventurer who has explored the ancient kingdom of Ys, encounters two factions: the “Normans,” seafaring people known for their powerful warriors, and the “Griegers,” a mysterious undead group that threatens the people of Obelia Bay.
The Ys IX battle system has undergone a major overhaul!
The all-new “Cross Action” system allows players to fight in two modes depending on the situation: a speedy solo mode in which the player controls gameplay supported by a partner who attacks automatically; and a “combination mode” in which two players simultaneously control a series of actions to engage in a turn-based battle against a powerful enemy!
In addition, for the first time in the series, Ys X allows players to become a ship’s captain!
This adds an exciting new element of challenge to the adventure, such as exploring vast regions of the ocean using nautical charts as guides, and sometimes challenging enemy ships to naval battles! Plus, the game also features the all-new “Mana Action” system, a special ability that greatly expands the freedom of the player in fields and dungeons.
Ys X: Nordics depicts a brand-new adventure in the northern sea Obelia Bay, featuring the young adventurer, Adol Christin, as its protagonist. The team that brought you Ys VIII and Ys IX has done it again—make sure you don’t miss out on the latest installment of the Ys series!
