SDCC 2023
San Diego Comic-Con 2023 will run from July 20 to 23 at San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California.
The following video game-related panels are planned:

July 20
- 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Symbiotic Relationships – Insomniac Games’ creative director Bryan Intihar, game director Ryan Smith, narrative director Jon Paquette, and senior art director Jacinda Chew are joined by actors Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), Laura Bailey (Mary Jane Watson), and Tony Todd (Venom), along with voice-over and creative director Bill Rosemann from Marvel Games, to discuss the upcoming PlayStation 5 game. Get a behind-the-scenes look at Insomniac Games’ take on the monstrous Venom and how the symbiote plays a role in the sequel to the hit PlayStation games Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Moderated by Geeks of Color’s Dorian Parks.
- 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. – Peacock’s Original Comedy Series Twisted Metal – Get an exclusive sneak peek at Peacock’s new original comedy series Twisted Metal. Based on the classic PlayStation game series, Twisted Metal is a high-octane action comedy based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool) and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai), about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The ten-episode series stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, with Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa, and guest stars Neve Campbell and streams only on Peacock on July 27.
- 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Magic: The Gathering Goes to Universes Beyond – Magic: The Gathering‘s Universes Beyond lineup is bringing the game to exciting new places, crossing over with your favorite books, games, and shows. From The Lord of the Rings to Doctor Who, Gavin Verhey (principal game designer, Magic: The Gathering) will share the secrets behind bringing these sets to life and provide some sneak peeks of the future.
- 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – World Premiere Screening of Twisted Metal – Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller hosts a world premiere screening of the first episode of Twisted Metal, followed by a Twisted Metal-inspired version of Kinda Funny’s interactive game, “Kinda Feudy,” featuring randomly selected guests from the audience whose Twisted Metal knowledge will be put to the test. Don’t miss even more twists, turns, and surprise giveaways at the special event.
July 21
- 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. – Tekken 8: The Art of Fighting – Legendary Tekken game director Katsuhiro Harada brings together experts to discuss how fighting games are evolving. Hear how the latest entries are taking advantage of powerful new-gen platforms and elevating the genre back to the highest echelons of gaming, where it belongs.
- 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. – Resetting Mortal Kombat: A New Beginning with Mortal Kombat 1 – Get an exclusive first look at the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, the newest iteration in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat videogame franchise from award-winning NetherRealm Studios. The creative team and voiceover talent behind one of the most iconic properties in gaming history discuss the reimagined story, new features, and art style and reveal new gameplay. Panelists include Ed Boon (chief creative officer, NetherRealm Studios, and co-creator of Mortal Kombat), Dominic Cianciolo (story director, NetherRealm Studios), and Thiago Gomes (art development director, NetherRealm Studios), and actors Kelly Hu (X2: X-Men United, BMF, Young Justice) as a character to be revealed at the panel, Yuri Lowenthal (Marvel’s Spider-Man, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Ben 10 franchise). Tech / geek / culture aficionado and YouTube sensation Brian Tong will moderate. Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to release on Septtember 19, 2023, for PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
- 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Invincible 20th Anniversary Panel – The Best Superhero Comic Book in the Universe celebrates its 20th anniversary with a look back at the franchise and a look forward at what’s to come in the worlds of comics, animation, video games, tabletop games, and more! Featuring Invincible creators Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, along with Sean Mackiewicz (senior vice president / publisher, Skybound), Marge Dean (head of studio, Skybound Animation), and Mike Rogers (creative director, Skybound).
- 8:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. – SAND LAND World Premiere Screening – From the creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, comes his latest animated movie, SAND LAND, making its world premiere at Comic-Con! Shueisha (publisher from Japan), Bandai Namco Filmworks (animation company from Japan), and Toho (film company from Japan) will also welcome Toshihisa Yokoshima (director of SAND LAND) to discuss behind-the-scenes footage.
July 22
- 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Hellboy: From Comics to Games – Comics creators Mike Mignola (Hellboy, B.P.R.D.), Ben Stenbeck (Frankenstein Underground), and Tom Sniegoski (Young Hellboy) join members of the team working on the upcoming video game Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, including Amanda Kruse (executive producer of Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, head of publishing at Good Shepherd Games) and others to discuss the ever-expanding world of Mignola’s beloved creation, Hellboy.
- 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. – Star Wars Outlaws: Becoming the Galaxy’s Most Wanted – Brought to you by Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars Outlaws follows the high-stakes life of rookie scoundrel Kay Vess and her companion Nix in the first-ever open-world Star Wars game. As the Galactic Empire tightens its grip, while others are thrown into turmoil following the battle of Hoth, Kay Vess descends to the criminal underworld to pursue an opportunity of a lifetime.
