“Living witch cottage” game REKA will leave Early Access and launch for PC via Steam on August 18, publisher Fireshine Games and developer Emberstorm Entertainment announced.
REKA first launched in Early Access on September 12, 2024.
Here are the latest details, via Fireshine Games:
Featuring writing from Rhianna Pratchett (Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite), you will begin your tutelage in the mystic arts as Reka, a young witch of your own creation, exploring a vast world of natural and supernatural wonder. Legendary witch Baba Jaga will help guide you as you get to know the wildlife, take on quests from locals and customize your ambling cottage to roam the land. But Baba Jaga has a dark secret you will slowly bring to light as you grow your powers. Can you discover what she’s hiding?
Via your moving cottage, traverse across the twilight forests, gather ingredients and materials and master the powers of nature and spirits to become a powerful witch of the land and uncover even more secrets. Will you use this power to help the local villagers or harm them? How you use your powers is up to you.
In addition to the emotional conclusion to REKA‘s tale, the 1.0 launch is brewing up a host of new features and improvements. House customization is getting a major upgrade, allowing players to build using five additional new materials (birch, spruce, beech, pine and clay), as well as build at angles to further personalize your cottage, and a free-moving camera to allow for easier building. This comes alongside a complete UI overhaul, new achievements, tons of quality-of-life improvements and all-new Simplified Chinese and Japanese localizations by newly announced co-publisher Shochiku Games (China and Japan regions). The world of REKA is just begging to be discovered.
