Wizards of the Coast cancels Giant Skull’s Dungeons & Dragons action adventure game
Stig Asmussen assures, "Things are good at Giant Skull."
Wizards of the Coast has canceled a publishing agreement with Giant Skull, the studio established by Star Wars Jedi series and God of War III director Stig Asmussen, for an original Dungeons & Dragons action adventure game first announced in June 2025.
“We assess concepts at every stage of development,” a spokesperson for Wizards of the Coast told Bloomberg, adding that the company was still taking new pitches from Giant Skull.
The spokesperson continued, “While we decided not to pursue an early concept from Giant Skull, we have great respect for Stig Asmussen and his team and value our ongoing relationship.”
The cancelation took place alongside a larger reorganization at Wizards of the Coast, which included the closure of subsidiary Atomic Arcade.
Asmussen told Bloomberg that he enjoyed working with Wizards of the Coast, and that he is still talking to people there and at other companies about potential new publishing deals.
“Things are good at Giant Skull,” he said.
