Sony Interactive Entertainment filed trademarks for “Break In” on May 20 in the United States and Europe.
The nature of the trademark has led to online speculation that it is a rebranding of the May 2023-announced competitive heist game Fairgame$ by Sony Interactive Entertainment subsidiary Haven Entertainment Studios.
On ResetEra, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, known for reporting on information not officially made public, responded with the post, “Br€ak In,” suggesting the trademark is indeed connected to Fairgame$.
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced yesterday that it will host a State of Play broadcast on June 2, which will feature over an hour of updates from “top studios around the world.” If “Break In” is a rebranding of Fairgame$, it is possible we will hear about it during the broadcast.
Update 11:40 a.m.: “PlayBreakIn” accounts were recently registered on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit. The Twitter account is based in Canada, where Haven Entertainment Studios is headquartered.
