Grand Theft Auto VI reaffirms November 19 release, summer marketing rollout
"So the next few weeks I don't think it'll be summertime yet," Take-Two Interactive Software CEO says.
Grand Theft Auto VI is still on track to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on November 19, Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive Software CEO Strauss Zelnick told Variety ahead of today’s Q4 2026 financial meeting.
Zelnick also said today’s earnings would not include a pricing announcement.
“We never make marketing announcements in our analyst calls,” Zelnick said. “Never ever ever.”
He continued, “I think reiterating November 19 as a launch day today is probably a positive. I think we’ve been really clear that we’re releasing the title on November 19.”
Asked about recent rumors, spurred by a Best Buy affiliate email that went out last week that suggested Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders would open this week, Zelnick said that Rockstar Games will begin marketing the title this “summer,” as previously announced.
“So the next few weeks I don’t think it’ll be summertime yet, but when it’s summertime, Rockstar expects to start marketing [Grand Theft Auto VI].”
According to the astronomical calendar, summer spans June 21 to September 22.
