Arknights: Endfield version update ‘Sketches of Lost Heirlooms’ launches June 5
New playable characters, a new area, fan-favorite game mode, and more.
Publisher GRYPHLINE and developer Mountain Contour will release the version update “Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” for free-to-play 3D RPG Arknights: Endfield on June 5, the companies announced.
“We can’t help but feel proud because continuous polishing and non-stop optimization truly can bring everyone a better gameplay experience,” said Arknights: Endfield producer Light Zhong in a press release. “‘Actions speak louder than words’ is a principle we have never changed. We hope that every piece of game content we release, and every optimization measure we implement, can speak on our behalf and repay the trust of all our Endministrators.”
Here is an overview of the update, via GRYPHLINE:
New Region and Story Content
“Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” widens the Talos-II frontier as the long-lost ruins, the Sword Vault Dale, see the light of day once more. As part of the new story campaign, players will navigate through the ruins’ broken walls and floating cliffs, uncovering the mysteries of the “Lost Heirlooms” alongside the Wuling Watch.
New Characters
Two new playable characters arrive with ‘Sketches of Lost Heirlooms,’ providing players with more unique abilities and playstyles to discover.
- Mi Fu – Arriving at the launch of the update on June 5, Mi Fu is an action-oriented character who is deeply intertwined with the overarching story. As the captain of the Wuling Watch, she embarks on a revenge battle against her former masters in the A Fistful of Reflections narrative event. On the battlefield, Mi Fu is a high-mobility Physical Guard who can perform up to four basic attacks in a row and seamlessly chain her Battle Skills and Ultimate to execute uninterrupted, high-damage attack combos.
- Camille – Arriving successively later in the update, Camille is a dedicated Keeper for Seš’qa responsible for investigating internal criminal cases. His standalone event, Danse Macabre, plunges players into a grim criminal investigation initiated by an anonymous blood sample. On the battlefield, Camille is a Heat Vanguard who excels at accelerating squad skill rotations and providing the team with combo attack effects.
New Game Mode
- Contingency Contract – The fan-favorite, highly-customizable hardcore challenge mode from the wider Arknights universe makes its official debut in Arknights: Endfield. This game mode puts difficulty scaling directly into the players’ hands and serves as the definitive endgame test for hardcore tacticians. By activating specific “Test Criterion” and “Key Criteria” modifiers, players face a dynamic mix of positive and negative battlefield constraints. Success in this mode requires continuous strategic adjustments and thoughtful team composition adaptations, rather than simply overpowering enemies.
Quality-of-Life and Gameplay Improvements
- Industrial Automation – “Sketches of Lost Heirlooms” introduces “Backup Power” to mitigate factory blackouts, alongside an automated feature that handles blockages for multiple recipes, drastically reducing the friction of factory management.
- Progression and Inventory Streamlining – Highly-requested features such as Bulk Artificing for gear, Weapon Batch Dismantling and Lock Management, and the “Perfect Match” label for essence farming make their debut in the update, significantly cutting down menu time.
- Interface Optimizations – The update brings an enhanced UI with improved off-screen enemy attack warnings, seamless controller / keyboard and mouse switching across all menus, and a revamped Daily Task system optimized for faster completion.
Arknights: Endfield is available now for PlayStation 5, PC via the official launcher and Epic Games Store, iOS via App Store, and Android via Google Play.
