Flight combat simulation game Aces of Thunder will add a flat screen mode for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) “shortly after” its previously planned PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR launch, developer Gaijin Entertainment announced.
“Flat screen mode will allow us to bring more players to the game and let [virtual reality]-equipped users prove the advantages of having a headset in really immersive flight simulation dogfights,” said Gaijin Entertainment creative director Kirill Yudintsev in a press release. “While the game is already at the polishing stage, the developers are fully committed to release it only when it’s actually done.”
Here is an overview of the game, via Gaijin Entertainment:
Aces of Thunder is a flight combat simulation game focused on a selection of the most legendary World War I and World War II planes with meticulously recreated cockpits and unprecedented level of immersion, taking advantage of HOTAS controllers. A couple of dozen aircraft from five nations will be available instantly upon purchase. There will be several game modes, including player-versus-player battles with evenly matched opponents, a set of challenging single player missions, and a combat scenario editor for those seeking to play by their own rules. Victory in Aces of Thunder will be determined by skill, precision, and mastery of the skies.
Aces of Thunder will launch for PlayStation 5 and SteamVR “in the coming months,” with the flat screen mode following “shortly after.”
