Visual novel The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Midsummer’s Mirage and the Journey of Dreams will launch for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam on October 2 in Japan for 5,280 yen, publisher Bushiroad Games announced. It will support and English and Japanese language options. A limited edition will be available for 11,000 yen.
The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Midsummer’s Mirage and the Journey of Dreams was originally only announced for Switch earlier this month, but at the time, a YouTube premiere page for the game’s opening movie—planned for release today—had been accidently published an entire month earlier. The thumbnail of that premiere revealed the addition of PlayStation 5 and PC versions, as well as the October 2 release date. But today is the first official announcement.
Here is the story synopsis, via the official website:
A non-human being living alone in the night of London.
One night, he encounters a young girl named Letty, calling for help amidst the fog.
Rescuing her from the darkness, he learns that she has lost her memories and doesn’t know why or how she ended up there, and the two become friends.
Wanting to help the first friend he’s ever made, the non-human Sol sets out to find “The Thorn Mage” Elias and Chise—whom he has heard of through rumors from the fairies—in hopes of restoring Letty’s memories.
