Here is an overview of the game, via Kinda Brave:
In Distant Bloom, players take on the role of a cosmic explorer sent to an alien planet on a mission to establish a new home for their species. After an extended voyage through space, an unexpected crash landing reveals a harsh truth—the once lush and thriving world observed from afar is now barren and lifeless. With the help of your loyal robotic companion Kei’ki, and your crewmates, it’s up to you to uncover what went wrong and breathe life back into the planet.
Throughout your adventure, you’ll traverse diverse biomes, from rolling hills and dense forests to marshlands and rocky gorges. Each biome boasts its own unique flora and fauna, influenced by its terrain—be it arid, humid, rocky, or lush. As you explore, you’ll witness the planet’s fragile ecosystem gradually come back to life.
Resource management is key—you’ll need to gather materials, collect seeds, and cultivate plants to expand your settlement, enhance your tools, and strengthen your bonds with your team. Along the way, you’ll rescue animals in distress and uncover ancient ruins that hold secrets about the planet’s mysterious decline.
Distant Bloom is a cozy and relaxing game that integrates eco-conscious themes into its gameplay. It highlights the significance of living in balance with nature, a process that involves patience, understanding, and care.
Originally released on PC on March 27, 2024, Distant Bloom is now expanding to new platforms, bringing its immersive experience to a broader audience. The game encourages players to engage with its environmental themes and explore the relationship between nature and sustainability.
