PiXEL has announced “twin-stick block breaker” Uta to Mori no Youkai Yashiki for Switch. It will launch both physically and digitally on July 10 in Japan for 3,300 yen.
A 6,600 yen limited edition will also be available, which includes a copy of the game, special box, the original soundtrack, a youkai encyclopedia, and and original menko.
Here is an overview of the game, via PiXEL:
Uta to Mori no Youkai Yashiki is a unique twin-stick block breaker where the left stick launches the spirit Mew, and the right stick controls the protagonist Uta.
In a mansion filled with cute yet slightly eerie youkai, Uta aims to escape with the help of Mew while closing the door to the youkai world.
Advance to the next stage by utilizing the powers of randomly appearing items and the friendly youkai you meet along the way. Items can be leveled up in the Youkai Shop Rokuro, helping you overcome even the toughest stages. The physics-based, gameplay is unpredictable, making it enjoyable for both beginners and experienced players alike.
The game also features hand-drawn yokai and special effects.
The music is composed by Eiji, known for works like Saiaku Naru Saiyaku Ningen ni Sasagu and Together We Live. Additionally, the main theme and other music were composed by Norio Nakagata.
