A fourth Sonic the Hedgehog theatrical film is currently in development with an anticipated release of spring 2027, SEGA and Paramount announced.

The third movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, will premiere in theaters on December 20, and currently has an 86 percent fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 57 critic reviews.

Plot details about Sonic the Hedgehog 4 are still to be announced.
