GREE establishes GREE Studios to manage consumer games business; live service games business absorbed by WFS
New company structure to take effect on January 1, 2025.GREE has announced the establishment of GREE Studios, a new subsidiary responsible for its consumer (console and PC) games business, previously managed by both WFS and Pokelabo. Additionally, GREE’s live service games business will be absorbed by WFS, with Pokelabo continuing as a brand under WFS.
The following company changes will take effect on January 1, 2025:
- Pokelabo’s live service games business will be absorbed by WFS, with Pokelabo continuing to operate as a brand under WFS.
- WFS and Pokelabo’s consumer games business will be transferred to the newly established GREE Studios, which will focus on strengthening GREE’s presence in the consumer games market.
- GREE Entertainment‘s contract work will be absorbed by WFS, while GREE Entertainment will continue to focus on intellectual property production and game licensing.
- GREE, Inc. will change its name to GREE Holdings, Inc. as it transitions to a holding company structure.
