■ Story
In Tianeea, the Fire Village, everyone is preparing for the coming of the Faerie and the naming of an “alm.” Every four years, alms from around the world are chosen to travel to the Tree of Mana and rejuvenate the flow of mana power by offering their souls. A soul guard accompanies the chosen alms to ensure their safe pilgrimage.
On the day of the Faerie’s arrival, Val, the new soul guard, brings his childhood friend, Hinna, to the festival. As the sun falls beneath the skyline, all the spectators wait with bated breath, hoping to be chosen as an alm. The Faerie finally descends before Hinna, appointing her the Alm of Fire.
The villagers bid them both farewell, praying for their success as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
■ Characters
Eoren (voiced by Paul Castro Jr. in English, Nobuhiko Okamoto in Japanese)
“Another mystery for the history books. The world’s full of ’em.”
Eoren, a Gaian traveler, hails from Gudju, the Earth Village. He keeps stumbling upon Val and Hinna during their travels and seems very curious about the alm’s pilgrimage.
Lyza (voiced by Jessica Osborne in English, Maaya Sakamoto in Japanese)
“There we go! Everyone okay?”
Lyza is a former soul guard and Val’s mentor. She’s an upbeat gal, beloved by everyone she meets, but it’s her fighting skill and fierce determination that have always been an inspiration for Val. They say she’s resettled in Gudju.
■ Harbingers of Disaster: Benevodons
Originally from a different realm than both mortals and spirits, each fearsome Benevodon monster possesses the powers of one of the eight elements. When mana power began to dry up, these harbingers of disaster broke through the weakened barrier between realms and attacked.
Benevodon of Darknes, Zable Fahr
A horrifying triple-headed monster with dominion over the powers of darkness. The left visage wields physical power, the right utilizes magical might, while the center brings destruction and chaos.
Benevodon of Wind, Besseroth
A divine being of crackling thunder and raging storms. It dwells atop a mountain plagued by wailing winds and is responsible for the weather phenomena in the area. Besseroth also maintained the region’s diverse ecosystems back when it was venerated as a deity.

Daelophos (voiced by John Patneaude in English, Hiroki Touchi in Japanese)
