Victory Heat Rally launches October 3 for PC, iOS, and Android; later for Switch [Update]

Arcade racing game Victory Heat Rally will launch for PC via Steam, and iOS and Android via Crunchyroll Game Vault on October 3, followed by Switch at a later date, publisher Playtonic Friends and developer Skydevilpalm announced.

“Our hope was always to launch simultaneously on all platforms,” Playtonic Friends said in a press release. “Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen difficulties with development we made the decision to move ahead with launching on PC and mobile with a launch on Nintendo Switch to follow at a later date. But worry not! We will have news about the Switch launch very soon! It’s not far behind!”

While the Kickstarter campaign for Victory Heat Rally also targeted PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, and still lists those versions today, a Playtonic Friends representative told Gematsu there are currently no plans to release Victory Heat Rally for those platforms, as it only signed Switch, PC, and mobile releases with the developer, and is not associated with the Kickstarter campaign. (Update: In a Kickstarter blog post, Skydevilpalm said that it “simply didn’t have the bandwidth to bring the game to Xbox and PlayStation in time for the initial release,” and that it is “committed to exploring options for an Xbox and PlayStation release once we’ve successfully launched the game on our primary platforms.”)
