NIS America announces PAX West 2024 lineup
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II, and more.NIS America has announced its lineup of playable games and activities for PAX West 2024, which will run from August 30 to September 2 at Seattle Convention Center in Seattle.
The following four titles will be playable by attendees:
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II (PS5, PS4, Switch, PC) – No longer threatened by the mafia organization Almata, the people of Calvard have returned to their peaceful lives. But one day, a shocking series of murders involving a mysterious crimson beast sets the wheels of fate in motion once again. Various factions spring into action—both those who abide by the law to uncover the truth and those looking to capitalize on any new developments wherever possible, no matter how sinister. With chaos once again looming on the horizon, the spriggan Van Arkride receives an unexpected visitor, prompting his own investigation. Who is behind the murders, and what is their goal? The sands of time bring old and new faces together for this thrilling second installment in the Trails through Daybreak saga.
- Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero (PS5, PS4, Switch, PC) – Set sail to save the day with Marona and her Phantom friends in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero! Each stage of this colorful RPG adventure offers a gridless tactical turn-based challenge. Utilize the “Confine” system to recruit Phantoms, binding them to objects on the map for unique advantages. Unleash potent attacks with “Confine,” merging Phantoms with cannons and other Gadgets. When all else fails, execute Marona’s special “Confriend” ability for show-stopping abilities that will turn the tide of battle!
- REYNATIS (PS5, PS4, Switch, PC) – REYNATIS is an atmospheric urban fantasy set in a realistic recreation of Shibuya, Tokyo, where the ultimate clash between magic and order is about to unfold. Seeking freedom through strength, the wizard Marin heads to Shibuya, where he meets Sari, an officer of the M.E.A., an organization dedicated to keeping wizards under control. In addition to the M.E.A. exists the Guild, an organization formed in 1923 to protect the citizens of Japan with the power of magic. They have invited the wizards of Shibuya to join them, and rumors suggest they are involved in the production of illegal drugs…
- Ys X: Nordics (PS5, PS4, Switch, PC) – Following their tenuous encounter at sea, the young red-haired adventurer Adol Christin and the proud pirate Karja Balta find themselves bound by fate—and the mysterious power of Mana! As they search for a way to undo the mystical ties that bind them, they soon find themselves caught up in a conflict between two factions: the seafaring warriors known as the Normans and the enigmatic and seemingly immortal Griegr. In order to save the people of Obelia Gulf, Adol and Karja must navigate the depths of their unexpected bond and the power that it grants them.
NIS America will also host the panel “NIS America’s Wide World of JRPGs: The Power of Stories” featuring Davidvinc RPGs, Just the Gems, and Cameron Hawkins on August 30 at 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET. Its description reads, “One of the most appealing aspects of JRPGs are the stories they tell. But what types of JRPG stories are there, and what makes them so good? Join our panel discussion to learn more!”
