Tales of the Rays to end service on July 23 in Japan
Offline version planned for release.Tales of the Rays will end service on July 23 in Japan after over seven years of operation, Bandai Namco announced.
The iOS and Android RPG first launched on February 28, 2017 in Japan. A short-lived global version launched on July 24, 2017, but ended service less than a year later on May 29, 2018.
Alongside today’s announcement, all in-game currency sales have ended. Full Voice Pack sales will end on June 20.
From May 22 until the end of service, Bandai Namco will hold the “2,703 Days Thank-You Finale Campaign,” which will culminate with the release of the final scenario in July.
An offline version of Tales of the Rays is also planned for release in July, which will allow players to carry over some data from the live version. Some functions, such as battles, scenario logs, and the encyclopedia, will continue to be available in the offline version, including collaborations. The main scenario log will be automatically fully unlocked, but Recollection scenarios and event scenarios will not be automatically unlocked. A new scenario called “A Story of Truth and Memories” will also be implemented.
Bandai Namco also announced plans to release the Tales of the Rays Memorial Book this fall for 13,200 yen. Pre-orders are available starting today via movic and close on July 31. The set contains two A4-size volumes spread across approximately 600 pages.
