Co-op platformer Bread & Fred coming to Switch on May 23
Embark on a journey to the top of the summit.Cooperative platformer Bread & Fred will launch for Switch on May 23, publisher Apogee Entertainmenta nd developer SandCastles Studio announced. It will support English, Spanish (Spain), Catalan, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brasil), Chinese, Spanish (Latam), Polish, and Turkish language options.
Bread & Fred first launched for PC via Steam on May 23, 2023.
“Bread & Fred was created as a collaborative experience, and the Nintendo Switch is a perfect complement for friends and family to play together at home and on the go,” said Apogee Entertainment chief creative officer and founder Scott Miller in a press release. “With the addition of the timed trials, there’s even more reason to gather friends to create memorable, binding moments.”

Meet the newest member of the mountaintop crew, Pol the Polar Bear. Race Pol to the finish line in 10 all-new time trial challenges to unlock special rewards.
Bundle up for the tandem-trek of a lifetime as Bread and Fred, pint-sized penguin pals, embark on a journey to the top of the summit. Intrepid climbers land heart-pounding jumps, clear sprawling gaps, and maneuver slippery platforms, all while attached at the hip to a (hopefully) trusty partner. Communicate via in-game emojis to count down every jump.
Find the perfect penguin partner and clear record-setting runs together in Speedrun Mode. Interested in a single-player solo climb? Swap out a penguin pal for Jeff the Rock to sling and jump-throw across the slippery slopes.
Clamber to the jams across all genres, from smooth jazz to hip-hop, with the “Super Duper Ultra Redux” mixtape, featuring an hour of toe-tapping, wing-flapping tracks from legendary gaming composers like Grant Kirkhope (GoldenEye, Donkey Kong 64), Chipper Hammond (composer, Turbo Overkill), and Tim Stoney (Assassin’s Creed Origins). Find the perfect song for every climb with the Jukebox inside Bread and Fred’s house, easily accessible via the pause menu.
