Palworld launches in Early Access on January 19 for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC

Open-world survival crafting game Palworld will launch in Early Access for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on January 19 at 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET / 17:00 JST for $29.99, developer Pocketpair announced. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass. It will support English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Korean language options.

Palworld is expected to remain in Early Access for at least one year, during which it will receive various additions and improvements via updates. Core systems such as monster catching, battles, exploration, building, and crafting are already in place, as well as over 100 monsters, a vast open world, over 350 items, and over 70 types of buildings.

Palworld is an open-world survival crafting game that supports up to 32 players and is set in a world where mysterious creatures called “Pals” live.

Along your adventures, you will encounter many Pals. Capture them, make them work, fight, breed and even sell them. You can adventure in a large world alongside your Pals.

• Fight Alongside Pals using a Wide Variety of Weapons – From traditional weapons such as bows and swords to modern weapons such as assault rifles and rocket launchers. Some pals can use heavy weapons such as Gatling guns and missile launchers!
• Build a Base – Leave production, farming, cooking, power generation, etc. to your pals. Pals work in ways that suit their personalities. However, pals are also living creatures like us. If you forget to give them food and rest, it will negatively affect their motivation.
• Supports Multiplayer for up to 32 Players – Palworld can be played alone as well as multiplayer. By forming a guild and cooperating with your friends, you can adventure together towards a common goal. Player Battles will be implemented in a future update.

How much will Palworld cost?

Palworld will cost $29.99 during early access! This price will vary depending on your regional currency.

Will new Pals and areas be added to Palworld?

Yes! Palworld will continue to be updated during and after early access! We will share a roadmap of our year 1 plan shortly after release!

Is there PvP in Palworld?

PvP will not be supported at the initial release. However, we are currently testing PvP internally and experimenting with different approaches. We want to find the right type of PvP that fits Palworld and when it is ready, we will share news with you all.

Is Palworld on Xbox Game Pass for PC?

Yes! Palworld is on the Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Game Pass for PC!

Does Palworld support cross-play between Xbox and Steam?

Not at launch, but we are working to make this a possibility as soon as possible! (This also means PC Game Pass can not play with Steam until cross-play is added.)

Will Palworld be coming to PlayStation 5?

We don’t have plans for this at the moment, but will consider it during development!

Will Palworld support more languages?

We don’t have any plans to add more languages for the initial release, but we would like to support more as we continue to develop the game!

Does Palworld support controllers on PC?

Yes!

Can Palworld be played offline and single-player?

Yes! You can play Palworld by yourself offline or with your friends online!

How does multiplayer work in Palworld?

You can play Palworld with up to three friends by simply starting a multiplayer game and inviting them (four-player co-op). Beyond this, you can create a dedicated server, which will allow for up to 32 players to play in the same world and create guilds together. We will provide the tools to create these servers yourself at launch. (There will also be official servers managed by us, or you can choose to host your own private ones)

Can I use my single-player character in multiplayer too?

At the moment, partially yes. Your character is bound to your world and is not shared across servers or single-player. However, if you are the host of a co-op game then you can switch between single-player or multiplayer freely, but your guests will not be able to do this. We plan to provide a server/save transfer method later on during development.

Does Palworld support modding? Steam Workshop?

Steam Workshop support won’t be supported straight away but we plan to add it after launch. Palworld is made in Unreal Engine 5 and we look forward to seeing what sort of mods people come up with!

Is this game a scam? Or is it a money-making MMO or virtual currency game?

It is not a scam and will definitely be released on January 19. Palworld is a typical Steam game, you buy it once and it is yours forever. While we may consider expansions after the full release, that is a conversation we will all have together, as a community, when the time comes!
