Atmospheric first-person horror game Sylvio: Black Waters announced for consoles, PC
Due out in early 2024.Publisher DreadXP and developer Stroboskop have announced Sylvio: Black Waters, the third entry in the atmospheric first-person horror series. It will launch for unspecified consoles and PC in early 2024.
Here is an overview of the game, via DreadXP:
Sylvio: Black Waters is an atmospheric first-person horror game that strands players on an enigmatic alien planet where the ghosts of the past hold the clues to its secrets. In this unfamiliar world that bears an uncanny similarity to Earth, players will discover a mysterious device that allows them to commune with spirits. One such voice that echoes from the device comes from a man named Lee, who claims to be the sole survivor of this place.
By tuning in to the disembodied voices of those who once inhabited this world—breaking its oppressive silence—players piece together an enthralling story of how this place came to be. Answers about the past and, possibly, the future await as players delve further into the pitch darkness at the heart of this world.
Sylvio: Black Waters is the third game in this original series which began with the critically acclaimed Sylvio in 2015—a title nominated for Best Original Game by the 2015 TIGA Awards, listed as one of the best horror games by PC Gamer, and called a “triumph” by Rock, Paper, Shotgun. Fans of the series can expect a multi-layered narrative with the chills and thrills that they’ve come to love and fresh, physics-defying gameplay mechanics and clever puzzles.
