Leaving your opponents in the dust means you’ll need more than a fast car in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged. Two new vehicular maneuvers bring an extra layer of action to each race. With the power of boost, players will be able to Jump or Double Jump at any moment. With a boosted hop, racers can fly over their enemies, avoid obstacles, and navigate tight spaces. Racers who flex their creative muscles can even use this trick to find new shortcuts or reach new sections of the track.
Alongside jumps, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is introducing the Lateral Dash, which gives players the chance to use strength instead of speed. Through this maneuver, players can collide with cars on either flank to force opponents off the track or bounce them against a track’s barriers. Lateral Dash and Jump open up vast new options for racers in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged, and when paired with the game’s boost and drift mechanics, give players a new way to race.
Racers can take these new maneuvers and their already radical racing skills to Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged’s five brand-new environments. Blaze across the sticks in an old-fashioned Arcade, tear up grass in the Backyard of a family home turned racing arena, kick up dust in a Wild West-inspired Mini Golf Course, make history in a Museum amongst fossils, and top up at a Gas Station diner. These diverse areas will bring racers both indoors and outdoors, on track and in the dirt. With seamless transitions between each setting, racers will have to adjust for their new environment, fully testing their skills. For the creatively inclined, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged also offers a Track Room where fully custom racetracks can be made from scratch.

But for any race, players will need a fresh set of die-cast wheels and Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged presents an expanded lineup, featuring an impressive collection of 130 iconic vehicles from the Hot Wheels universe. This includes the introduction of two all-new classes: ATVs and Motorcycles. Each vehicle class has its own unique style and feel, with each playing differently. For example, vehicles in the Rocket category deliver unmatched speed on straightaways, while those in the Balanced category offer a perfect blend of speed and maneuverability. The Swift category presents a lighter and fiercely competitive option, while the Drifter is perfect for mastering corners with professional finesse. In contrast, the Heavy Duty category features colossal and robust vehicles, and the Off-Road class represents the ideal choice for conquering the most challenging off-track terrains.
To truly dominate the competition, a combination of muscle and brain is essential. That’s why Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged introduces a brand-new Skill System that allows players to customize their vehicles for a totally personalized ride. With the Skill Points earned, players can invest in a Skill Tree, consisting of three branches, each focusing on different aspects of a car’s driving abilities. They include improving the vehicle’s boost and related features, improving handling, and much more.
In Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged it’s not just what’s under the hood that matters—players must make their car their own. As such, the Livery Editor will allow the creation of unique liveries that let players stand out on the track, while the new Sticker Editor will let Hot Wheels artists create, save, and share specific patterns and shapes, allowing for further customization of their vehicle’s appearance. Once they are satisfied with their designs, they can share them with the world, showcasing their artistic skills to fellow racers.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 19.
