Terra Nil launches March 28
Portion of profits to be donated to Endangered Wildlife Trust.Terra Nil will launch for PC via Steam, and iOS and Android via Netflix on March 28, publisher Devolver Digital and developer Free Lives announced.
Pre-orders will receive a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition of the game, which includes the soundtrack and a digital art book.
Beginning with pre-orders and continuing after launch, a portion of the profits for Terra Nil will also be donated to the Endangered Wildlife Trust.
“From the very beginning of development we’ve wanted Terra Nil to be able to have a real-world impact,” said co-creator and lead designer Sam Alfred in a press release. “After much searching, we found the perfect partner to make this happen in the Endangered Wildlife Trust. Free Lives will be donating a portion of the profits of each sale of Terra Nil on Steam to the Endangered Wildlife Trust to help them in their efforts to preserve and restore ecosystems in the real world.”
Here is an overview of the game, via Devolver Digital:
In this chill, meditative twist on the city-builder genre, you use advanced eco-tech to transform a barren, desolate wasteland into a thriving, vibrant ecosystem. Purify soil, clean oceans, plant trees, reintroduce wildlife—then recycle everything and move on, leaving no trace you were ever there.
Across six to eight blissful hours, tackle a variety of replayable procedurally generated biomes—including volcanic glaciers, ruined cities and tropical islands—each with its own uniquely challenging climate, geology, flora, and fauna. Then when you’ve completed all four regions, challenge yourself further with unlockable alternate levels.
Create rainforests, swamps, rivers, and more, and watch as the dry, cracked surface of a dead world suddenly explodes with life and color.
Terra Nil is a peaceful, beautiful and deeply satisfying experience.
