SEGA launches ‘C-SMASH VRS’ countdown website – Cosmic Smash revival?

Countdown ends on February 13.

SEGA has launched a teaser website and social media accounts for something titled “C-SMASH VRS.”

The teaser website features a 21-day countdown that ends on February 13 at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET. The social media accounts are available on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

The tweet from SEGA with a link to the website was retweeted by both graphic designer Cory Schmitz and DJ Ken Ishii.

The title “C-SMASH VRS” could suggest the game is a new entry in SEGA’s Cosmic Smash series. Cosmic Smash is a squash / Breakout hybrid game that first released for arcade on January 11, 2001, followed by Dreamcast on September 13, 2001.

The “C-SMASH VRS” website also uses the same gray and orange color scheme as Cosmic Smash, and every so often a Breakout-style visualization appears on the visualizer.
