Publisher Perp Games and developer Anshar Studios will release Gamedec: Definitive Edition for PlayStation 5 in early 2023, the companies announced. It will be available both physically and digitally. Wishlisting is available now via PlayStation Store.
Gamedec first launched for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store on September 16, 2021, followed by Switch via Nintendo eShop on July 1, 2022.
“We are excited Gamedec has a chance to hit the major league,” said Anshar Studios head Jakub Kwinta in a press release. “The topic of a potential Gamedec release on PlayStation has been floating around since the crowdfunding campaign back in 2020. The partnership with Perp Games allows us to reach out to the new gamers, who surely will appreciate the extensive branching path the game has. We are aware the roster of PlayStation titles also shows, people are demanding games with choices and consequences. We hope you will feel the weight of the decisions faced by the detectives in the 22nd Century.”
Perp Games CEO Rob Edwards added, “It is such a privilege to be partnering with Anshar Studios on the incredibly detailed game, Gamedec. Perp Games has always had virtual reality close to our hearts and this is why Gamedec is such a great game as it explores a futuristic world where people live out second lives in virtual reality. But this is vision of virtual reality that can go dark and sinister, very quickly.”
Here is an overview of the game, via Perp Games:
Gamedec is a narrative-focused, non-combat story that puts players in the shoes of a digital detective diving deep into case files spread across the digital worlds of 22nd century Warsaw. How you respond during each case is as important as what you discover—your personality determines skills that unlock different opportunities and paths to different cases.
Your goal is to hunt down the criminals of virtual worlds – rich and spoiled businesspeople, corporations with plans to rewrite history. Are they acting alone, or are they mere puppets? What does a “happy ending” mean to you? To them? Each decision changes the world around you and your character’s personality. Some decisions will feel right, but others might be unexpected.
