White Owls Inc. trademarks Hotel Barcelona and Death Game Hotel in Japan and internationally

White Owls Inc. filed trademarks for “Hotel Barcelona” and Death Game Hotel” on March 25 in Japan, and for “Hotel Barcelona” and “Death Game Hotel” on October 27 internationally.

White Owls Inc., which is run by Deadly Premoniton series creator Hidetaka “Swery 65” Suehiro, and Grasshopper Manufacture, which is run by No More Heroes series creator Goichi “Suda 51” Suda, first announced the horror game Hotel Barcelona during a live stream in October 2019.

Though the initial announcement came off as very much “on the spot”—for example, Suda thought of the name “Hotel Barcelona” 30 minutes before the live stream, and the live stream acted as a means for Suehiro and Suda to solidify their ideas for a collaborative work—the new trademarks could suggest the title is now fully underway.
