Dune: Spice Wars will join the PC Game Pass lineup “soon,” Microsoft announced alongside publisher Funcom and developer Shiro Games.
The 4X strategy game first launched in Early Access for PC via Steam on April 26.
The PC Game Pass release will arrive at the same time as the major “Sand & Air” update, which adds new features, units, and more.
Here is an overview of the game, via Xbox Wire:
Dune: Spice Wars is a must-have 4X strategy game for anyone who loves the Dune universe.
Since its world premiere announcment during The Game Awards last December, Dune: Spice Wars entered early access on April 26 allowing Shiro Games to refine their ambitious strategy game with the aim for a full release in 2023. Now with its arrival soon with PC Game Pass, Dune: Spice Wars will be able to count on more gamers to help continue this journey.
Set in the universe of Dune created by Frank Herbert, Dune: Spice Wars is a 4X real-time strategy game that allows you to choose your faction and to launch yourself into a war for the control of spice on the planet Arrakis. Whether you select House Atreides, House Harkonnen, House Corrino, Smugglers or Fremen, you will have access to specific bonuses that will dictate the best way to approach the game.
You will then have to recruit agents, build your first defenses, and start exploiting the territory around you before launching more dangerous expeditions in areas beyond your control. Dune: Spice Wars also requires politics and good relations with the Imperium—it’s up to you to decide how to interact with the cities of Arrakis, whether by diplomacy or by force, and above all to pay your taxes on spice… otherwise your place in the Landsraad could be jeopardized.
