Unknown X has announced Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost, a rebuilt version of the mobile title Touhou Danmaku Kagura for PC (Steam). It will launch in 2023 worldwide.
Service for Touhou Danmaku Kagura ended today, but Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost will bring the rhythm game to PC with a new control scheme designed for controllers or keyboard and mouse, many returning songs and Mitama Cards, and a new story mode exclusive to the PC version written by Jin Fujisawa and Wakano Takeda of Story Note.
“Thanks to the support of everyone who played the game and made their voices heard we were able to make the PC version of Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost a reality,” said Unknown X founder JYUNYA in a press release. “We will bring as many of the songs and Mitama Cards as we can to the Steam version, along with unreleased ones and brand-new content. Please wishlist the game on Steam, and keep an eye out for further ways you can support the project.”
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
A rhythm game in which players can play popular arrangements of Touhou Project songs. A rebuild of Touhou Danmaku Kagura as a standalone version with a completely new storyline.
Wide Variety of Music
In addition to popular arranged songs from Touhou Project can also be played. The controls are optimized for keyboard and gamepad, pursuing a play feel as a standalone version.
Story Mode
In this mode, players travel to collect lost memories (called “Mitama Cards”) in order to restore the damaged Gensoukyou. By playing the “Danmaku Kagura” (rhythm game), which is the key to recovery, players will obtain the “Mitama Cards” and uncover the hidden truth one by one.
Free Mode
This mode allows you to freely play the songs unlocked in Story Mode. Songs will be added through updates and additional downloadable content.
