Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio TV #12.5 set for September 8 featuring “sneak peek trailer” [Update]
First formal look at Yakuza 8 incoming?SEGA will host a short episode of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio information program Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio TV on September 8 at 20:00 JST, the company announced. You will be able to watch it on YouTube.
Dubbed “Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio TV #12.5: Sneak Peek Trailer Brought to You by the Director!,” the broadcast will be shorter in comparison to regular episodes, and feature Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director and executive producer Masayoshi Yokoyama alongside product manager Masaya Santou. It will also showcase fan art submitted before the stream and comments from the previous broadcast.
While further details were not announced, the ambiguity of the program’s contents, recently shared development footage of the tentatively titled Yakuza 8, and the fact that Tokyo Game Show 2022 is approaching could suggest here is where we will get our first formal look at the game.
Update 09/08/22 at 7:10 a.m.: SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced the “RGG Summit 2022: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio New Title Presentation” for September 14. More information is available here.
A “sneak peek trailer” was not shown during the live stream, as our title originally suggested. The literal translation of Japanese word “yokokuhen” would be something along the lines of “advertisement for the next episode,” but it is usually simply translated as “trailer” or “preview.” Given the subject matter, we chose “trailer,” but the stream itself ended up being a yokokuhen for RGG Summit 2022. That being said, the name of the stream is somewhat misleading even in its original Japanese. We apologize for any misunderstanding this might have caused.
