Yakuza 8 – first off-screen development footage, Japanese fighter Mikuru Asakura to appear
A ponytailed Ichiban Kasuga appears.Japanese mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura will appear in the tentatively titled Yakuza 8, and has shared a first look at the sequel in a Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio tour uploaded to his YouTube channel.
Publisher SEGA and first confirmed the development of Yakuza 8 in October 2021 alongside the restructuring of developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, but further details were not announced.
In the studio tour, SEGA president Haruki Satomi and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio president Masayoshi Yokoyama directly offer Asakura a chance to appear in the game, who accepts it on the spot. Satomi and Yokoyama also mentioned that a different title that is not Yakuza 8 is also underway at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, and that a new city will appear in Yakuza 8.
The Yakuza 8 development footage is shown when Asakura visits the studio floor before going in for his 3D modeling shoot.
