Shoot ’em up collection Ray’z Arcade Chronology will launch for PlayStation 4 and Switch on March 9, 2023 in Japan for 7,480 yen, publisher TAITO and developer M2 announced.
A special edition will also be available for 18,480 yen, which includes the “Ray’z Music Live -STRAHL-” special concert Blu-ray disc and two-disc CD set, “Ray’z Orbital Operation” art book, “Ray’z Mission Maneuver Manual” strategy guidebook, five reprint instruction cards, and three reprint leaflets.
As previously announced Ray’z Arcade Chronology includes five titles:
- RayForce (1994)
- RayStorm (1996)
- RayStorm NEO-HD (2023) – A remaster of the arcade version of RayStorm. RayStorm HD launched in 2010 with additional elements and a 16:9 aspect ratio, but RayStorm NEO-HD includes the same content as the arcade version and retains a 4:3 aspect ratio.
- RayCrisis (1998)
- RayCrisis HD (2023) – A remaster of RayCrisis.
Users who purchase the game via Amazon Japan on Prime Day from July 12 to 13 will also receive a product code for the previously unreleased title R-GEAR, which was in development as a sequel to RayForce, but was cancelled and is now a “phantom game” in which only the first stage exists.
