THQ Nordic acquires animated content studio metricminds

Services include cutscene creation, trailers, motion capture, and more.

THQ Nordic has acquired metricminds, a Frankfurt, Germany-based animated content studio established in 2001, the company announced.

metricminds’ services include cutscene creation, trailers, motion capture, keyframe animation, facial animation, and fully finished cinematics delivered in-engine.

The studio’s notable projects include Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light, The Surge, The Surge 2, Evolve, Batman: Arkham Origins, Tarzan 3D, Darksiders III, The Remnant: From the Ashes, and many more, including the upcoming Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed from THQ Nordic.

The acquisition includes the entire core team, comprising of specialists in the games, broadcast, and film industries. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
