SaGa remaster, remake, and new title in development

Square Enix is developing at least three SaGa games, including a remaster, a remake, and a new title, according to a New Year 2022 greeting tweet from series creator Akitoshi Kawazu.

“The SaGa series was able to spend 2021 with the support of the fans once again,” Kawazu said in the tweet. “Thank you so much. We’re currently working on various things so that you’ll support us in 2022 as well. In addition to our service [game] management, we’re also making progress on a remaster, a remake, and a new work, and will do our best to deliver good news to everyone.”

Kawazu previously said that a new SaGa package title (a game with a physical release) was in development, with plans for an announcement in 2022.
