Devolver Digital acquires Dodge Roll, Nerial, and Firefly Studios as it goes public
NetEase, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and more among first investors.Devolver Digital has acquired Gungeon series Dodge Roll, Reigns series and Card Shark developer Nerial, and Stronghold series developer Firefly Studios, the company announced.
“Those developers and our team looked ahead and saw that we’d be working together forever so we lovingly acquired them, mostly so they would hang out with us more,” Devolver Digital said. “The games and experiences that these four studios have planned are incredible and each maintain their full creative autonomy afforded to them throughout our relationship. No specific plans for Enter the Gungeon 2, but rest assured we’ve asked [Dodge Roll] more than once.”
News of the new acquisition comes as Devolver Digital announced that it has become a publicly traded company. So far, the following persons and companies have purchased major stock in the company:
- NetEase Inc. (35,236,880 shares) – 7.97 percent
- Graeme Struthers (30,059,890 shares) – 6.80 percent
- Nigel Lowrie (27,464,675 shares) – 6.21 percent
- Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe Limited (22,241,917 shares) – 5.03 percent
- Slater Investments (20,154,489 shares) – 4.56 percent
- Eric (Rick) D. Stults (16,841,685 shares) – 3.81 percent
- Roman Ribaric (15,485,855 shares) – 3.50 percent
- Davor Hunski (15,485,855 shares) – 3.50 percent
- Chelverton Asset Management (13,535,031 shares) – 3.01 percent
And the following shares are held by Devolver Digital’s directors:
- Harry A. Miller IV (98,058,520 shares) – 22.17 percent
- Joanne (Jo) Goodson (93,798 shares) – 0.02 percent
- Kate Marsh (23,279 shares) – 0.01 percent
