Bandai Namco has announced the contents of Super Robot Wars 30 “Downloadable Content #1,” as well as released a demo for PlayStation 4 and Switch in Japan and Asia.
The following series will join the Super Robot Wars 30 roster as part of “Downloadable Content #1,” which is due out in November:
- Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children
- Sakura Wars series
- Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V
- Super Robot Wars OG series
“Downloadable Content #1” marks the first time Sakura Wars will appear in a Super Robot Wars game for console. Takaharu Terada, the director of the Sakura Wars series at intellectual property owner Sega, had the following comment to share:
“It’s been 19 years since I had a conversation with [Super Robot Wars series producer] Mr. Takanobu [Terada] because we share a similar name. Since then, I’ve always envisioned and dreamed of having Sakura Wars in Super Robot Wars, and I’m thrilled that my dream has finally come true with Super Robot Wars 30. The robots that have appeared in Sakura Wars, such as Kobu and STAR, are small robots, but they possess the same level of combat power, fervor, and somewhat bizarre attacks as Mazinger and Gundam Master. I hope you’ll be able to use them as part of your team when you play!”
Super Robot Wars series producer Takanobu Terada added, “Ever since Super Robot Wasr F, Terada-san of Sega Corporation and I have been asking for Sakura Wars to make an appearance in Super Robot Wars. Sakura Wars appeared in Super Robot Wars X-Omega before, but this will be its first appearance in a home console version of the series. And the main characters from the original Sakura Wars will be making an appearance on behalf of the series.”
As for Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children, both a Super Robot and a Real Robot will join the game. The Super Robot is Voltes V, and the Real Robot is Hi-Nu Gundam.
And from the Super Robot Wars OG series, RyuKoOh and KoRyuOh will join.
The Super Robot Wars 30 Season Pass will include the following content:
- Downloadable Content #1 – Nine additional playable units, including two from Super Robot Wars OG. 13 additional Area Missions.
- Downloadable Content #2 – Nine additional playable units, including two from Super Robot Wars OG. 13 additional Area Missions.
- Early Access: Downloadable Content #1 and #2 – This unlocks Downloadabel Content #1 and #2 two days before they are available for sale.
- Season Pass Special Mission #1 – Rewards 150,000 credits, 1,500 PP, 7,500 MxP, and the SP Regen and Dash Skill Programs.
