Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 for PS5 delayed to later in 2021
PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC versions due out as planned on June 4.CI Games has delayed the PlayStation 5 version of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 from its previously planned June 4 release date to “later in 2021” due to “unforeseen technical issues discovered in the weeks leading up to launch.” The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam) versions will launch as planned on June 4.
To apologize for the PlayStation 5 version’s delay, CI Games has decided to provide the first major downloadable content release—a new and extensive map complete with new contracts—free of charge to players across all versions. More information will be announced at a later date.
Additionally, both the physical and digital PlayStation 4 versions include a free digital upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version upon its release. The native PlayStation 5 version will benefit from native 4K resolution, enhanced textures and visuals, and faster load times.
“We could not have foreseen these issues,” CI Games executive producer Tobias Heussner said in a press release. “However, we would like to assure our players that our highly experienced, professional and dedicated team are working hard with the platform holder and engine provider to resolve the problems as soon as feasibly possible, to ensure we can bring the PlayStation 5 community the high caliber sniping game they have been waiting for. We will offer a free digital upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version with all physical and digital purchases of the PlayStation 4 release.”
