Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of August 23, 2020 to August 30, 2020.
The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki for PlayStation 4 was the highest selling new release at 83,680 retail copies sold. To compare, previous entry The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV for PlayStation 4 opened at 85,161 retail copies sold in September 2018 according to Media Create sales numbers.
Also new this week, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition opened at 48,957 retail copies sold on Switch and 30,169 copies on PlayStation 4 for a total of 79,126 first week sales. And Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions opened at 16,678 copies on Switch and 13,828 copies on PlayStation 4 for a total of 30,506 sales.
On the hardware side, the Switch family sold 78,773 units, while the PlayStation 4 family sold 1,926 units, and the 3DS family sold 1,011 units.
