Summer Game Fest announces partnership with YouTube Gaming for over four hours of exclusive programming
PlayStation 5: The Future of Gaming pre- and post-shows announced.
Summer Game Fest 2020 and YouTube Gaming have announced a partnership to produced over four hours of exclusive live Summer Game Fest programming in addition to the content already available on The Game Awards channel.
“Summer Game Fest Live on YouTube Gaming” will feature “the biggest video game announcements in June and July from the top gaming publishers and platforms.” Programming will include live pre-shows with predictions and live post-shows with reactions, as well as special guest interviews with “top names in gaming and entertainment,” and commentary from YouTube Gaming creators from all over the world.
The first event will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. ET on June 11 ahead of the “PlayStation 5: The Future of Gaming” event. It will include a pre-show with Geoff Keighley and YouTube creators recounting their favorite PlayStation memories, as well as predicitons on what games might be revealed. Right after the event, Keighley will return with “industry insiders and YouTube creators” for a post-show with reactions to everything that was revealed. You will be able to watch it here.
Keighley also tweeted that Kyle Bosman, formerly of Easy Allies, will also appear with a special “PlayStation 5: Dos and Don’ts” as a callback to his “PlayStation Meeting: Dos and Don’ts” from February 2013.
“For over a half-decade I’ve enjoyed partnering with YouTube to bring the gaming community together during the summer,” said host and executive producer Geoff Keighley in a press release. “This year, with the launch of Summer Game Fest, we are continuing that tradition with a series of YouTube livestreams around the industry’s biggest press events and moments.”
YouTube Gaming head Ryan Wyatt added, “For the past six years, YouTube has worked with Geoff to bring some of the biggest gaming industry events to a broader audience using the power of our platform. While physical events this year transition to digital, it’s comforting to know that we still have Geoff to guide us through the biggest industry announcements and we’re excited to add our unique YouTube flavor via creators from around the world.”
