Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of April 6, 2020 to April 12, 2020.
Final Fantasy VII Remake for PlayStation 4 was the top selling new release last week, opening at 702,853 retail sales.
To compare to the other best opening week PlayStation 4 titles, Monster Hunter: World opened at 1,245,169 retail sales, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age opened at 950,315, Final Fantasy XV opened at 690,471, and Kingdom Hearts III opened at 610,077.
(Editor’s Note: The numbers above are all according to Media Create sales. Final Fantasy XV opened at 716,649 sales on PlayStation 4 according to Famitsu numbers.)
On the hardware side, the PlayStation 4 family sold 79,059 units, the Switch family sold 25,313 units, and the 3DS family sold 1,614 units.
