Famitsu Sales: 3/30/20 – 4/5/20 [Update]

Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of March 30, 2020 to April 5, 2020.

The Resident Evil 3 remake was the top selling new release of the week, opening at 189,490 total retail sales across its standard and Z-rated versions.

To compare, the Resident Evil 2 remake opened at 252,848 sales on PlayStation 4 back in January 2019.

Despite the release of Resident Evil 3 remake, Animal Crossing: New Horizons remained the top selling title of the week, moving another massive 423,367 retail copies.

On the hardware side, the Switch family sold another impressive 154,640 units, the PlayStation 4 family sold 19,535 units, and the 3DS family sold 1,230 units.
